“Then the King will say to those on His right hand, ‘Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.'” Matthew 25:34-36

Fairhaven Bible Chapel desires to minister to those in prison, as these are people who are close to our Lord’s heart.

Emmaus Prison Ministry

The Emmaus Prison Ministry offers correspondence Bible courses to inmates of prisons and local jails so they can study while incarcerated. The courses are made available at no expense to our students, including free postage. When an inmate finishes a course, the materials are returned to us for grading and encouraging notes, and then are returned to the student.

Fairhaven serves as the California representative office for Emmaus Worldwide.

Our team works diligently throughout the week as they receive, correct, comment on, record, return, and prepare new courses to send to inmates who have requested the ECS courses.

Ways you can serve the ministry:

  • volunteer your time to serve in the office,
  • take home courses to comment on as a way to provide personal feedback to the students,
  • donate to support the ministry, which helps us purchase supplies, course materials, and postage, and
  • pray for all the needs of our ministry to be met each week and for the students who are studying the Bible with these courses.

If you’re interested in joining our ministry, please contact Mike Ausmus.

Chaplain Ministry

One of our elders weekly visits a jail as a chaplain to provide topical Bible studies for the inmates. This is an excellent opportunity to meet with the men face-to-face and to demonstrate the love of God and how God’s Word can meet them where they are.
